Should you dress the way the person you are dating wants or do what makes you happy?

Lately my boyfriend has been stepping in on my decision on how I dress and do my hair. He voices out how he doesn't like me wearing snug clothing or shirts with deep a V-neck, whenever my hair gets kind of long he reminds me that I need to cut it. I did my hair like Cristiano Ronaldo the soccer player(faux-hawk mullet) everyone from my friends to my family to people I work with tell me that my hair look great and I personally love my new hair style the only.person who does not like it is my boyfriend and his family....though they are like 1000percent alike. I tried explaining to him that the clothes I wear and the way I do my hair makes me happy and feel good about myself. He explained to me that I am selfish because I'm putting myself first in the relationship instead of thinking about what makes him attracted to me. Should I really be dressing to impress only my boyfriend? And am I really being selfish for doing it all for myself.
