My car wouldn't Start and I had no power, As I kept trying (10x) I got slight power and then it started?

I cleared away the corrosion and one of the connectors is cracked but its still a little snug on the terminal... I don't have a battery tester. What could it be?Battery? Connector? Altenator?Starter? If its the connector can you buy them Seperate from the cable??
