Get Hip/Thigh Strength back after prolonged immobility due to fracture?

8 Months ago, i had an avulsion fracture in my pelvis and hips, my doctor told me that i shouldnt movie my leg for 6 weeks, after 6 weeks my leg still hurt so he gave me another 6 weeks without pressure on the leg, and my muscles just keep hurting more and more as time passes and even my leg starts going numb sometimes, so i decided to go to another doctor who said that the problem is due to prolonged immobility which has made the muscles in my upper leg and thigh extremely week which causes the pain, can anyone tell me any good workouts in order to get my muscle strength back, the doctor suggest muscle strengthening and says that i should stretch the muscles because they became stiff after 8 months of immobility. Can anyone give me any workouts, routines, stretching techniques in order for me to get my leg back in action?
