Can I wear older retainers after my teeth have moved/shifted?

Wearing the retainer would make your teeth move back into shape slightly, but not fully. The retainer may also simply bend to fit your teeth. Wearing an old retainer will give you bad tooth aches and can make it hard to eat food without pain.
